Bears are fascinating and usually quite calm animals, but they are also powerful carnivores capable of causing significant property damage and serious injury to humans. They must therefore be treated with respect. This course covers general issues relating to this animal, safety procedures for field personnel and appropriate methods for establishing and maintaining a safe camp.
