Full two-day course to learn vital techniques in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This course is for people who need first aid training to meet job requirements or those who want to learn to be able to respond to emergencies at home. The courses meet provincial and territorial legislative requirements for occupational safety and insurance. They present the latest guidelines and techniques in first aid and CPR.

DURATION

CPR A: 13 hours in class OR 5.5 hours in class + 8 hours of online learning *

CPR C: 14 hours in class OR 7.5 hours in class + 8 hours of online learning *

SUCCESS CRITERIA

  • Demonstrate mastery of critical techniques and steps.
  • Obtain a pass mark of 75% on the written knowledge assessment.
  • Attend and participate in the entire course.

CERTIFICATION

General first aid certificate and CPR level A or C, valid for three years

RENEWAL OF THE CERTIFICATE

CPR A: 6.5 hours in class OR 3 hours in class + 4 hours of online learning *

CPR C: 7.5 hours in class OR 4 hours in class + 4 hours of online learning *

This course is devided into 2 parts :
online and classroom

  1. The first part ($72.34), online, lasting 8 hours must be completed before the second part in class.
  2. The second part ($54.84), in class, lasting 8 hours must be completed within 6 weeks of the completion of the first part online.

As soon as your registration, is complete, you will receive a link from the Red Cross to start your online course at your own pace (follow the instructions provided in the email).

Upon successful completion of the online component, you will receive a certificate valid for 45 days, the timeframe you have to complete in class course (part 2) and obtain your certification valid for 3 years.
